We now stock picture cards by Ben Meek, local young photographer. Ben's pictures capture the natural beauty that surrounds us with a unique artistic perspective. Why not browse our cards during your next visit to the shop? We particularly like to encourage local talent and we really like Ben's photos of the beautiful area we have the privilege to live in.

Hurricanes are rare inStogumber. Unlike the snow in the USA we are merely having rain and winds here yet the more subtle impact is that more people stay at home and snuggle up. Quite understandably. For us its a chance to clean shelves and rearrange shelves and remind ourselves how grateful we are for village life. Everything is quiet.
.
At the beginning of the new year (Happy New year by the way) we at the shop put some dates in our diary of the events that will happen in the village such as: June 25-26 Gardens open where villagers open their gardens to the public and the whole village comes alive Stogumber beerfest_ September 2-4 Stogumber Festival where classical music as well as folk music figures and established as well as new artists entertain. SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE The shopwindow shows of some of our local makers to enhance our commitment to local. If we purchase items locally it is helping money to circulate and be spent locally investing in the talents amongst us . As you are no doubt aware Christmas is around the corner and local gifts are around the corner: knitted items, aprons, bags, chess set, boxes, wooden toys......
Come and join us in fancy dress for the Halloween Hoedown at the village hall on Saturday the 31st October at 7.30. Tickets available from us for £10.00 per person.Includes supper.
